Neal Adams (1941-2022)
Neal Adams was known for his realistic and dynamic art style, which changed the look of comics in the late 60’s and 70’s. He is considered for one of the heads that would be made if you made the MT Rushmore of comics.
Neal Adams is best known for his work on Batman, co-creating Ras Al Ghul, and creating Man-Bat. He is also known for drawing and co-plotting:
Green Lantern/Green Arrow (co-created John Stewart)
Deadman
X-Men and Avengers
Superman vs. Muhammad Ali
And more covers than you can imagine.
Neal fought for creators’ rights and helped to make the comic industry a better place to work. He was a hard-working advocate for the comics industry. Neal Adams was also a powerhouse in the advertising world. He owned his own studio, “Continuity Graphics” which produced comics through Continuity Comics and Graphic Novels like Bucky O’Hare, Megalith, Armor, Ms. Mystic, Hybrids, Crazyman, Revengers, Freak Show, Cyberrad, Knighthawk, and Valeria She-Bat.
Kris Adams Stone will be representing Neal’s Estate at the Baltimore Comic-Con. Kris is one of Neal’s children. Kris, at times, has been described by Neal as being the brains or right-hand of Neal’s business. She grew up in the land of comics and was at the first Phil Seuling 4th of July Con held in NYC.
