Kids Love Comics on Tour! Jumpstarting Reading and Literacy with Comics
Sunday October 24, 2021 11:00 am to 12:00 pm | Room: 321

Helping kids get back to reading is a major challenge in the post and current pandemic world. But comics (and the Kids Love Comics! team) are coming to save the day! In this panel for educators and parents (and any interested kids!), KLC Founders Jimmy Gownley (Amelia Rules!, Dumbest Idea Ever), Harold Buchholz (Archie Comics, MST3K), and John Gallagher (Max Meow, Buzzboy) are joined by Jamar Nicholas (LEON series/Scholastic Graphix) to launch a new initiative to get comics creators in schools, and graphic novels in the hands of every single student. KLC will offer up a unique plan for school districts to directly engage with some of kids’ favorite creators in the comics market, all while increasing participation and literacy for students. Every attendee will receive a FREE all-ages comic book or graphic novel, with an accompanying lesson plan for use in the classroom or at home!
